Acupuncture is a useful adjunct therapy to help with a smoker who has decided to quit, or someone who had decided to lose weight.

Smoking cessation

Acupuncture is not a magic wand when it comes to smoking cessation. However, it is a useful tool, which can be used to curb withdrawal symptoms and manage cravings and provide an additional support during the withdrawal process. A successful program will include high motivation on behalf of the client to actually give up smoking, a go to person to help when feeling like relapsing, a well thought out plan on how to avoid the usual triggers, eg a smoking break at work.

Acupuncture helps by reducing the cravings and lessening the withdrawal symptoms associated with quitting. It also helps to rebalance the system and supports the Lungs to detox.
